How would you react to this scenario?
Driving along a road you see a young boy in school uniform on his way to school waving a gun and knife at passing traffic.
Would you ignore him or take steps to ensure the gun and knife are 'toys' and not the real deal?

Obviously I wouldn't think they are in the lolly aisle, I don't know why you had to add that apart from trying to be snarky.
Something no-one else has resorted to in this thread so far.
I didn't go to the discount/variety stores.
Target and Kmart are variety stores.
Choose to ignore the rest.

and water fights (best not tell the kids I actually approve of those though LOL) - we have a fair few 3/4 walls here and a loft - the fun you can have sneaking up on the kids with water bombs! LOLOL
I hear that!!
They are heaps of fun and available in every toy store.......

Good for you for being honest......

These cheaper ones, I guess from a distance could?
Up close no way, very plastic/fake.
Next time I'm shopping, I'll buy one and post the pic.
It will be interesting to see. I knew that less and less retailers were selling realistic looking guns but until today, I was not aware of the new restrictions.

seriously....some here are sharp as a bowling ball. Yes you can buy very unrealistic looking toy guns sheesh but as for guns that look to be the real deal. Not for ages in SA
Im sure the situation would have been different if the kid was waving a nerf gun.. **bleep**

I wonder how many millions of nerf guns are sold in Australia each year.
