the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

This is a thread with no particular

Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂

So if anyone out there has something

To say about anything you like now

Is your chance

Keep it clean

And be nice

See how long that lasts

Can we keep politics and religion out

Of the conversation

Yes it was fun

Wouldnt mind a bit of their energy

We went for a walk to the

Playground and were there

For about 2 min and the

5 year old slipped off the ladder

To the slipoery dip and hurt

Her bottom

Good job.she.fell on that and

Not anything else.

Anyway that was it she wanted

An ice pack so we had to go

Home. Shortly after she forgot

The pain , until she fell over about

An hour later and hurt her knee

 she's such a chatterbox

And 5 going on twenty.

Mrs Bowerbird (picture courtesy of the internet, because she still gets shy, with me) dropped by again, today.

I know she's starting to feel at home, she's taking food from right under the beaks of the currawongs. Smiley LOL

Eastern states.

Our birds are pretty.drab really

With the exception of many

Species of colorful parrots

Someone mentioned earlier

The black cockatoo

That's my favourite, but I donr

Think we have that one in SA

Either, maybe in the far north

When I was a kid my parents had a

Galah, it hated me

Apparently when I was a toddler I

Tried to hit it with a stick

Although I have no recollection of that

Whatsoever, the parrot never forgot

But I have been much kinder

As an adult to all creatures

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

Ecar, she looks a lot like a green catbird.  The catbirds should be visiting my backyard here in the near future.  Some of their delectable berries are starting to plump up.

I was just watching some of those noisy "alarm birds".  There wasn't much happening around here yesterday with the heat. But today it's all go, go, go.

First of all, we have the "lady who doesn't want to wet her feathers".  She flits about and dips here long nailed toes to the second joint. Then retreats to her shaded boudoir, where she fluffs about above the swimming pool.

Her teenage son, with a "watch me, watch me" attitude, flies in low, dipping his tail and splashes his little sister, who ventured into the smaller spa bird bath before bravely seeking equality in the big water.

Mother Hen's "friend" and "uncle" to the young 'uns, is trying to impress all with his dive bombing skills.

Unfortunately he appears to have a weight problem and sinks a little further than is normal.  Oh well, that'll get rid of all the dried up sweat from yesterday.  He is now showing off his underwings and deodorizing them in the salt air.

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

On the whole, the best I get is the sparrows bathing, though watching the currawongs drink is amusing. There were three on the birdbath, this morning, taking turns at dipping their beaks, 1-2-3, 1-2-3.... It reminded me of the old fashioned 'pecking chickens' toy, and got me thinking that I should make a drinking currawongs toy, just for amusement.

Isn't that a clever piece.  I see it as upside down string puppetry.  The birds head and neck protruding from an egg.Smiley Happy

Could you consider the string being attached to the beak posing as a worm?  Like a nature tug-o-war?

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

I think I'd have to use a crank assembly to drive it, rather than rely on a weight, and gravity.

And I'd have to make the worms from wire to be sturdy enough to move the figures.

Oh wait, I already have. Smiley LOL

There was an earlier version, and not a great photo, with just one chicken...
