This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

And a wink when your

Is a really nice gesture

If you know what I mean

Maurice Chevalier
Not
Lawrence Olivier 🙂

My daughter and I were
Driving around looking
For garage sales when we
Saw a dead possum on the
Road with a Sulphur crest
Cockatoo picking at it.
We stopped and watched thinking
This was odd.
We then realized what the
Cockatoo was actually trying
To do was roll the possum
Off the road with his beak
With great difficulty as the possum
Was quite large.he managed to move
The possum to the gutter
Possibly a couple of feet.
It was a sad thing to watch.
There was a large gumtree
Overhead and I felt they
May have lived there together
and become friends.
How many possums and
Friends this cocky would outlive
When a possum or any other
Creature has such a short life and
Cockatoos can live way
Over 100 years
I should have felt sorry for the
Possum but instead felt so sad
And sorry for the cockatoo
He was very clearly affected by this

That's a sad but beautiful story, Oppy.
Just as a coincidence, here's a story from the ABC news website, posted today, about how birds are smarter than we give them credit for.

When that little girl was found in the suitcase, and again when that little boy drowned off the beach in Turkey, I sat down and told them both a bedtime story about the cockatoos and their silly antics.
I know they're dead, it's not going to matter to them, but it mattered to me.
They're children, they've endured a wrenching experience. Some little kind of "normal", can't hurt, even if it's just a whimsical, silly animal story.
Yeah, I know, I'm a nutcase. Talking to the dead. I'll tell you what, next time you're putting some flowers on Aunty Mavis' grave, and catching her up on the family gossip, mention me... Ha ha ha ha.

Not a nutcase
Quite the contrary
A sweet and gentle soul

I know a little baby that could have listened in. I think I felt an angel wing flutter. Thanks

A Viennese gentleman who holds classes in ettiquette offers this advice;
There's a lot more to kissing a lady's hand than most people think.
The most important thing to remember is that you should not attempt to kiss it until she has offered her hand. The lady always instigates the greeting.
Once she has offered you her hand, you should remove your hat, if you are wearing one, and hold it lightly at the front of your leg.
Then you step towards the lady and take her outstretched hand and turn the palm downwards gently by the fingertips.
Keeping your legs straight, bend at the waist until your lips are a centimetre above her hand. Never touch her hand with your lips and avoid eye contact or speaking while bowing for the kiss.
Look into her eyes afterwards and if they are sparkling, you have done it right and she will know you are a gentleman.

Wow
There's a lot more to
It than I ever imagined. Lol
Didn't realize a poor
Fellow had to go to
Classes to learn such things
Wouldn't it be embarrassing
If you got an f in chivalry.
Women have shot themselves
In the foot with all this feminist bs
