That old bird's a character.

I chucked him a piece of bread, he picked it up, ran a couple of steps and then dropped it - No, no, I don't like this, this is end of the loaf crust...

So I chucked him another piece...

Oh... This is multigrain, I prefer wholemeal...

In a slightly exasperated tone I said "Fine, here's the box, with the bread in it, you work it out...", and put the box down on the ground.

He walked towards the box, past the box, stopped, looked back at the box, then waited until the other birds had moved away from it before he went over to it.

He took his time shifting pieces of bread from one side to the other, then selected a piece, raised his wings and ran away very excitedly.

He's had a big day, today, from standing on the periphery and looking hopeful, to self service, ha ha.

There's a pergola roof panel that's going to have to come down...

Fix isn't the word, so much as remove and replace.

I don't know how whoever it was that managed to leave a dent the better part of 2 cm deep in it, did.

But they did.

I'm not really sure I want to know, ha ha.

I was going to pull the frame and panel down, this afternoon, but while I was contemplating the fiddlier aspects of getting the panel down, something else came down.

The rain, ha ha.

Well, that puts a damper on the afternoon's activities, ha ha.

I thought I saw a flash of grey, in the fading light,  through the holes in the lattice.

I stepped closer, and squinted through one of the holes.

While I was peering, fruitlessly, into the gloom, I heard the tic tic of claws on the bridge, above, and looked up.

Takeaway looked down at me, one ear up, one ear sideways - "What are you looking/listening for?".

I said "I thought I saw a flash of grey, over there, but now I'm not so sure...".

"I didn't pass anyone on the way here... Sorry, I'm not much help...", she said.

She can be as funny as the best of them, when she wants, ha ha.

A couple of nights ago, Moreton came by with Piano.

Yes, the name, although at first a joke, stuck, ha ha.

Everything has to be explored, preferably at a full gallop.

I'm beginning to wonder if Piano has knees, or simply relies on the high speed blur that takes the place of where her legs should be, ha ha.

Up, down, over here, over there, back to here, did I go over there already? I'd better go over there, anyway...

Poor Moreton, it was quite literally Mouthful, Look around...Where is she this time? Mouthful, Look around... Where is she this time?

Kids at that age, they're a bundle of energy, ha ha.

By the time Moreton got here last night, Piano was well and truly worn out, and back in the she's already a big girl, will it stretch any further? pouch.

The things that mums put up with, ha ha.

What a most splendid name .... "Piano" ...... 

This is a week of "scheduled hurry", everything happening at once and I'm having to be almost  in two places at once.  No complaints though, never a dull moment and it will all be completed by Easter!

Meanwhile, introducing Worf .... (Mr. Worf actually .... ) ... he really is a friendly little Klingon, loves Wesley and they have bonded so well with wild games and generally follow each other about to the point where you never see one without the other.

He's a rescue/adoption from the no kill shelter and has the 'classic' tabby markings, while Wesley is a 'striped' tabby.

I'd better keep going, not enough hours in the day and in about a month, the quilting crowd will be here but before that, I have to fly out of State and get back just in time, sigh!!
