The original old man bird arrived while I was still refilling the water dishes...

I told him to hang on five minutes and I'd be with him...

He went and sat on the roof of the old possum house, hunched his shoulders forward, his head down, and shivered a little...

He had his eyes closed about a quarter of the way, and slowly closed his eyes fully, then just as slowly opened them, again...

Pale blue eyelids... cockatoo skin colour... ha ha.

He's doing a fine job of looking like he's old, cold, and he doesn't look like he's feeling well...

But it's funny how all of a sudden he has the vitality and energy of a much younger cockatoo when the subject of food is raised... ha ha.

He's a very different bird when the warm glow of attention is focused on him... ha ha.
