I seem to remember seeing a garden hose extension at some point.

A few feet of hose to connect the hose reel to the tap, nothing fancy...

Oh wait... that was the one I made with a length of hose I found on a rubbish pile...

In hindsight, as in when it snapped when I moved it this afternoon, maybe using an obviously very old piece of hose (and then leaving to sit, for years) wasn't such a good idea, ha ha.

What am I going to do? ha ha... I didn't need an excuse to go to Bunnings, but now I've got one, ha ha.

I walked round the corner and there was a bird sitting on the ground...

I took half a step back and said "As you were, bird...".

The bird looked at me and said "As you whir...?...Whir...? What, do you think I'm some kind of tinplate mechanical toy?"... ha ha.

The peewits were having an eat on one of the platforms and I noticed that she's about half as wide again as he is...

Living, indeed dining here must be agreeing with her, ha ha.

Well, of course the other option is that Spring has metaphorically sprung and they really are about to become Mother and Father peewit...

This should be fun... ha ha.

I've no idea how many eggs come in a clutch, or how many can reasonably be expected to survive, let alone how long it will be before fluffy, grumpy looking little birds will descend upon me, but as I said, this should be fun... ha ha...

Good morning all ...... 

I haven't been into this thread for a while, at this time of the year I have about seven or eight minutes at a time to look around the forum and do something.  It is such a busy time making sure everything is ready and completed before the end of October and then that's it for this year, my time will be my own .... yay!

Today is the day of the apple pie!  YES!  In the wee small hours of the morning, Mr. Tas and I made the pastry in the food processor, peeled and cored the apples, made one heck of a mess, constructed the whole thing and prepared it for cooking.  It was a miracle we didn't cut our fingers off before dawn, but somehow, we didn't .... 

There is a fabulous recipe somewhere that I can't find, and that is an unusual apple pie that has custard involved but it's not Danish, it's a real pie.  We'll have to hunt and gather for it with more ferocity.

I have a big ring binder with plastic insert sleeves full of toy and furniture patterns...

Naturally enough, patterns end up in the "wrong" sleeves, so everything has to be sorted out... ha ha.

The process, however, isn't that simple....

"I never did get around to making that... I'll just have a quick look at the pattern while I'm here.."...

I think I spent more time poring over the patterns than I did sorting them out....there goes an afternoon... ha ha.

I found some really good things, though...

"One of these days I'll have to get around to making that...", ha ha.
