I was using an upgraded version of this when my eldest was a youngster......she turned 50 last week.

It was a padded seat and backrest with a padded bar to hold the child in.  It hooked onto the back of the seat and you put the car seatbelt across the seat to keep it in place.   It was pretty much the ultimate in child car seats.

Have a vague recollection of my youngest sister sitting in one similar to this.

She is 52 so would have been very late 60s
