What harm can come of that? It's a stick on light... ha ha...

Once I'd recovered from my "Kangaroo in the headlights" moment, ha ha...

Those two pale yellow strips, either side of the switch are the lights, and they're bright... Very bright...

I thought about where I could put it, but nothing practical came to mind...

Maybe I should stick it to the inside of the power meter box lid, that way the next time the power's off, I don't have to wrestle the lid with one hand and a torch with the other in order to be able to see if the power's off on a larger scale, or it's something more local in the fuse department...

But is it a good idea, or one of those ideas that seems good at the time, but loses points when it comes to practicality?

I might give it a couple of days... See what I think... Not that I'm keeping myself in the dark, as far a decision goes... ha ha...

The scruffy old man bird who sleeps in the trees out the front, because they're the right kind of trees, and they're conveniently placed, right next to the house, ha ha, has come in for the afternoon.

It's a particularly cols and windy one, and he's not feeling as bright and chirpy as he might...

He's sitting on a perch under the eaves, it's not the warmest of spots but at least it's out of the wind...

I offered him some food...

He responded with a hiss... a sharp exhalation...

"No...", but also, No, thanks... I'm not hungry right now... I'm old and I'm cold and I'd rather be  left alone... ha ha...

Fair enough...

I'm leaving him to it, in his relatively comfortable spot...

There's food enough, and water, and shelter, such as it is...

One way or another, he'll be right... ha ha.

And he'd better not go keeling over... I spent an hour this afternoon wrapping cord around the ramp he uses to get up onto the roof, so that he can climb it with greater ease. That's not an easy task in this cold, it's hard on the hands...

Show me a little gratitude, old man...

No, I'm kidding... If we don't get one more day, then we don't get one more day, that's how it works...

We have come this far, together, and I can't ask for more than that.
