the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

This is a thread with no particular

Topic so no one can be off topic ๐Ÿ™‚

So if anyone out there has something

To say about anything you like now

Is your chance

Keep it clean

And be nice

See how long that lasts

Can we keep politics and religion out

Of the conversation

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

The only good thing about driving up to Sydney from Canberra at night is that it's dark, and you can't see how boring it is... ha ha...

I had to do a mercy dash up there, one time, some kind of family emergency meant that a little girl had been stranded there, and her nearest family was her Grandparents in Canberra...

I picked up her up and she decided that she wanted to ride shotgun...

We chatted, on the run back for the next couple of hours, until I dropped her off at Grandma and Grandpa's...

Grandma said to her "How was the run down?"...

She did that theatrical sigh that only a six year old girl can do, properly, and said, in a tired voice "He didn't shut up the whole way...".... ha ha.

Good onya, kid... ha ha...

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

I popped in to a health food store to see if they had sunflower kernels...

They were a bit pricier than at the supermarket... I thought I'd give it a miss, but speaking of Miss, she was young and pretty and I was in the mood for a little light fun...

"My little girl's just fallen pregnant, again", I said, "and I'm spoiling her with lots of  little treats... Sunflower kernels, creamed corn, apple sauce...This'll be her fourth, or fifth, I think.."...

I watched the poor girl's eyes widen, before adding "She's a possum..."... ha ha...

The world would be a dull  place, indeed, without pregnant possums and pretty young women... ha ha...

Did you know that the school holidays started, here, about a fortnight ago?

No, at the time, neither did I... ha ha...

But it became quite apparent round Monday or Tuesday when the afternoon crowd swelled from some 20 to probably closer to 60, or more... ha ha...

Somebody forgot to get a bird sitter... ha ha...

Col. Claus von Stauffenberg, 75 years have passed and despite other more recent events grabbing the headlines, Operation Valkyrie, and the role you played in it, has not been forgotten.

Mother possum arose and carefully chose the bridge that she was going pose on, silhouetted against the fading sky...

Front feet together, with her back left leg almost touching them, and her right leg stretched back...

Which left me no doubt, whatsoever, that her pouch is starting to bulge... ha ha...

She's such a showoff, ha ha...

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

I'm standing beside the bench out the back and the old man bird's up on the bridge above me doing an expectant little jig - "Treat time! Treat time!", ha ha...

I'm trying to juggle a couple slices of bread and open the container with the food in it while having an animated conversation with the wattlebird...

In short, he doesn't see any problem with eating the bread while I'm still holding it, no matter how awkward that might be for me... ha ha...

I got the lid off the jar, and that sent the old man bird into an even more frenzied dance of excitement... ha ha...

So, he got his treat, and he was okay, but there was no such luck to be had with the wattlebird...

He wasn't going anywhere, even after  I managed to put the bread down on the bench...

I had to point it out to him that I'd put the bread down before he'd release his vice like grip on my jacket... ha ha...

And that was the quiet part of the afternoon... ha ha...
