With so much "information" on the coronavirus floating around, like so many little airborne viral spores, ha ha, it can be hard to know what's truth and what's conjecture.

What do I "believe"? What passes for the truth today can be overwritten tomorrow...

I suppose the best any of us can do is keep an open mind to it all...

And reach for a quarantini, ha ha...

The lady possums who visited over the last week or so, seeking the attention of the BIg Man, himself, have returned to their respective nests, hopefully, pleased by his style of wooing, ha ha...

So he's not strutting around anymore, as though he's the Most Magnificent Masculine Creature in Existence... He was a sight, ha ha...

He's gone back to being his usual meek self  - running, for all he's worth, when he saw Mother possum approaching, this evening.

She's wobbling around awkwardly, trying to keep her balance on the narrower bridges, youngster clinging to her back and he, fit, fleet of foot, and in the prime of his life, makes himself scarce at the sight of her, ha ha...

But it's not all as it might seem...

That little possum clinging to Mum''s back will not be a little possum forever, and Mum won't be in fiercely maternal mode, forever, either...

For all she growls and hisses at him, and chases him, she never seems to tire of seeing him, ha ha...

So let's skip forward a handful of months - the little one will have grown and left the nest, and Mum will be feeling the gentle tingling of impending motherhood, once again...

And who better would it be to assist her with her natural desires, but the metaphorical boy next door? Or, in his case, just along the bridge, a bit... ha ha...

He's not silly, ha ha,

When it comes to having an eye for the future, he's your go to possum, or would like to think he will be, ha ha...

Reminds me of days spent lamb marking.
Poor little tikes.
I always felt so sorry for them.
Especially the ones that can only lie down after that ring is put on their nut bag

I do feel for the poor little lambs, but I expect a rubber ring is a far better alternative to a spey blade, especially one wielded by an inexperienced hand...

Canberra and it's surrounds are sheep country, some would say a perfectly good squatter's domain ruined by some goose planting a city in the middle of it, ha ha...

I spent my high school years in the company of the kids of local farmers, so my education included not only included what the school taught, but what I learned outside of classes.

I still can't, all these years later, look at the little pen knife blade on a Swiss Army knife without recalling the particularly vivid picture painted for me by one of my fellow students on the purpose and use of a spey blade...

It was an education within an education, you might  well say... ha ha...

Remember Bird Flu?

It seems "so last week", now, doesn't it?

But at the time... ha ha...

Just because you can't turn around without hearing about it doesn't mean it's ever present.

Were you scorched by the recent fires?

Soaked by the floods, still present in recent memory?

Parched by the drought that has ravaged the land, these many years?

Barely a day passed when you didn't hear about them...

They touched, in their own way, your life, but they didn't take it...

Do you think this is any different?

What's the point in worrying?

It never was worthwhile...

But, as it goes on to say, "Smile, smile, smile...".

The funny sight of the evening has to have been Mother possum sitting on the platform, on the bridge, clutching half a slice of banana.

Looking, first, one way at the receding form of Big boy possum, as he made himself scarce, ha ha, then in the other direction towards the possum house...

A little face was just poking out of the doorway...

"Is he gone, yet? That big, noisy possum... He scared me and I ran back inside...".

Meanwhile, Mother possum raised her paw, clutching the banana, and took a bite...

"I have banana, and this banana is better than yesterday's banana" she said, chewing noisily...

"Um..." I replied, "You didn't have any banana yesterday...".

"Yes...", she said, "That's - why - it's - better..."... I think she might have been dropping a subtle hint, there, ha ha...

I better put bananas on the shopping list, ha ha...

What's wrong with pineapple?

I've been into several supermarkets this past week and in each I've found a whole shelf neatly stacked, floor to ceiling, with pineapple...

What is it that's so unattractive about pineapple to people who are, otherwise, desperate enough to buy paper towel as a substitute for loo paper...?

Maybe those juicy golden rings are our one protection against the zombie army that is massing, waiting to strike us at our weakest, but word hasn't got out, yet, so the terrible hoarders haven't descended upon the pineapple like a plague of locusts... ha ha...

Oh no, I might have said too much...

Quickly, everyone to the supermarket!

Grab all the pineapple you can!

The future of humanity may be at stake! ha ha...

On a serious note, though, to you it might be just a frivolous luxury item, but to people who have a genuine need for pineapple it could mean the difference between a bland Hawaiian pizza, and one that tastes just right.
