Today, or tomorrow, I didn't catch the date, is the 75th anniversary of Australia joining Bomber Command.
The news informs me that tomorrow, there'll be a Last Post ceremony and a fly past.
I'm guessing it'll be a couple of Hornets, out of Williamtown.
It'd be too much to ask to see the skies over Canberra graced by a Lancaster, but boy it'd be a sight.
The usual thing is that they'll fly over the War Memorial, being very impressive, and then fly out this way to regroup for another pass.
Cockatoos don't like fighter planes.
At the first hint of them the birds'll head for the trees, emerging a couple of hours later to tell me all about it.
"There were these things, in the sky, and they moved very quickly, and made a terrible roaring sound....".
"Plane?".
"Oh no, they were quite fancy", ha ha.
