the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

This is a thread with no particular

Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂

So if anyone out there has something

To say about anything you like now

Is your chance

Keep it clean

And be nice

See how long that lasts

Can we keep politics and religion out

Of the conversation

A quick glance at Google tells me that Great Danes have a lifespan of between six and ten years, so having celebrated his eighth birthday, he's doing pretty well...

I was really touched by the last paragraph - they have a phone call at night and he mumbles back at her, ha ha...

That's so sweet.

I had a visitor stay for a sleep over, today...

A big boy possum...

He got up shortly before dusk and went and sat on one of the platforms on the bridge out in the back yard.

He kept looking around, as though he was expecting company... I've seen that expression, before... "She said she'd be here about 5, and it''s gone that... I wonder if I've been stood up...", ha ha...

I don't think he's got too much to worry about, he's a handsome specimen as possums go, ha ha...

The fog/mist moved in while it was still light, about half past four...

When I first saw it, I wondered for a moment if someone's house wasn't on fire, it was that thick...

It's another of those wonders of the weather, ha ha...

If I'm right, the last time I made bread I was sharing a house with a gaggle of teenage boys, and their various hangers-on, and I seem to recall that it was a very rare occurrence that I'd manage to get to sample the fruits of my baking...

It must've been alright because it never lasted long once it was out of the oven, ha ha...

It's another of those things I tried, but never got back to doing, again, unlike making my own pasta....

I don't think I'll try that, again... it's all too labour intensive, ha ha...

I think that might have turned into a "Go and get take-away" night, ha ha...

Still, I can always say that I've made pasta from scratch, I even used a pasta rolling machine... Not overly successfully, but at I least I tried... ha ha...

Apparently the World isn't going to end any time soon...

Interesting theories abound, but it looks like we'll all be here for Christmas, ha ha...

Isn't it funny how people create drama out of seemingly nothing?

It's as if their lives aren't interesting enough as it stands...

It makes me glad to have you guys around... You're always able to brighten my day with some clever anecdote or observation drawn from life.

Thank you all, and Don't ever stop, ha ha...

I ordered a small part from a company in the UK.

They said it should take about 7 to 10 working days to arrive, roughly two weeks...

That would've made it' "due date" for delivery the 1st of June.

Given that the mail's running slowly at the moment, and there's public holidays around that time, I didn't give it much thought...

It'll turn up...

Around the 10th, a week and a half after I'd "expected" it to arrive, I began to worry...

Should I email the sender and tell them I think it's gone astray, somewhere?

I figured I'd give it another day... ha ha....

And guess what turned up in the mail, this morning... better late than never...?

So, everything is good.

It would be very easy to invoke the Law of Coincidence - it was only when I realised that the package hadn't arrived, and thought that perhaps i should do something, that something then happened - the package arrived... ha ha...

You're lucky Ecar.

Most deliveries from overseas are coming by sea mail.

It could've taken 2 months or more to get to you.

That's the thing I hate about ordering stuff from overseas - the delay...

I like the convenience that buying locally brings because the stuff comes quickly, and usually while I'm still enthusiastic about the project I'm working on, at the time, ha ha...

It's a shame that Australia doesn't have a manufacturing sector that could keep up with my demands for odd and obscure spare parts, but that's something I have to live with - I can't have it all, well, not all immediately at my fingertips, anyway... ha ha...

And some things, I have to admit, are worth the wait...

Meanwhile, I've been waiting 3 weeks for a Melbourne to Melbourne delivery.

Vintage item.  No-one else has it.  Seller is sympathetic and is looking to see if she has another.  I don't hold out much hope.

She'll refund, but I don't want a refund.  I want the item     sadsmiley.gif
