This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

The old bird made it through the night.
It seems that he has more yet to do with his life, starting with giving me a grumpy look because it was cold, still wet, and he had to share his breakfast, ha ha.
I told him that it's the decent thing to do, and that we shouldn't delve into Confucianism and the complexities of filial piety, seeking a reason behind my actions, ha ha.
As far as I can see he's gone off into the outer world, for the day, filling the gap he might have left here with hungry magpies.
So thoughtful, ha ha.

Mother magpie turns up.
Here's some food...
She takes what she wants, and leaves.
I go back inside, put the magpie food down, grab something for the cockatoos, go back out and Father magpie turns up - "Got any food?"....
You two do this deliberately, don't you? Ha ha.

Let's have breakfast with Mum!
Let's climb off Mum and have a little bit of a look around...
Mum moves off along the bridge to have a look at the other breakfast.
Hop!
Stop!
Sniff roof support post (I'm reading the post, ha ha ha ha).
Hop towards Mum and jump up onto Mum's back.
All is good in the world.

I had to collect someone's mail, last night.
That consisted mainly of picking up / scraping up a large pile of soaking wet catalogues.
No worries, except for the street light out the front of their place being the only street light in the street that wasn't working.
Hello recycling bin...
And back for the mail...
The box is one of those concrete/brick pillars, with a little metal hatch at the back.
I lifted up the lid and shone the torch in...
Then I gently lowered the lid, turned the torch off, lit a smoke and stood in the dark contemplating how I was going to deal with the situation at hand....
There was more than just mail in the mailbox.
Had it been a big spider, and I'm not a great fan of big spiders, it would have found itself being coaxed to leave, at the end of a long stick.
Fair's fair, the letterbox is somewhere out of the weather, and the weather hasn't been kind, lately.
Seeking shelter is not grounds for me to hasten it's demise, so take the hint, and get out of the letterbox!! Ha ha.
No, it wasn't a spider.
I almost wished it was. At least they'll take the hint and vacate the premises if they're given a decent shove.
Keep in mind that this is suburbia, so the possible incidence of snakes is pretty close to less than zero.
The same thing also applies to yabbies, so we're managing to narrow the field, somewhat, ha ha.
It was a mouse.
A plump, happy, healthy little mouse.
A mouse who thought that being very gently prodded, on it's side, was obviously grounds for it to retreat to the back corner.
And sulk.
Okay, perhaps not entirely happy, after all it was having it's privacy invaded, somewhat, ha ha.
Okay, fine. All I want is the mail.
It's a hinged flap, I'm sure you'll have no trouble pushing your way out when you decide to exit.
Which I hope will be before I come by, next, ha ha.
Actually, if it had been a yabby I would've gone home and got a camera.
Nobody would've believed that without pictures, ha ha.
I just have to remember to let them know not to stick their hand in the mailbox, without looking first, ha ha.
