Back in the day... there used to be a hole in the pergola roof, pretty much right over the top of the Brown house.
There were times... and many a good story starts that way, so there's hope, yet, for this one... ha ha.
The little possum would, from time to time, find herself being pursued by her mother...
This has a lot to do with the little possum not having moved out weeks ago, when her mother said so...
She stayed, which is why she gets chased by her mother...
Across the bridge, to the house she goes...
There is one minor complication...
There's a bit of a distance between the house roof and the pergola roof, and it does take a small jump, and a lot of wiggling to get through.
If only there was a convenient step...
And then one day there was...
And not long after that you moved out, making the step effectively redundant, ha ha.
Oh, and the roof got fixed, too, so now there's no hole.
But there's still a step.
Or should I say, a perch.
A very good perch for a peewit who wants to stay out of the rain, and out of the way of the bigger birds, but still be able to watch what's going on... ha ha.
