This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

A slight change of plans...
The glow in the dark "pebbles", courtesy of Aldi are all just a little bit curved...
Concave, or con-white-water-rafting... you know, the opposite of cave... ha ha.
So my brilliant plan to double sided tape them to the ceiling isn't going to work...
And I don't think I'm that enthusiastic that I'd stand there on a step ladder with a caulking gun, holding them in place and waiting for the gluey stuff to dry... ha ha.
I was sitting on the bench, out the back, when one of the cockatoos inched it's way across to me...
It stopped next to me, reached out with a claw and gently patted my arm...
Then, for good measure, did it again... ha ha.
But wait, there's more!
It leant forward and kissed me, on the arm, just below the shoulder... ha ha.
"You're so very very special to me and I love you so much and now will you feed me?", ha ha.

Windy here, today... strong gusts...
The sky's turned a sort of orange colour... I'm cursing myself now for not taking that free Dulux paints colour chart while I was at Bunnings, or I'd be able to tell you the exact shade... ha ha.
It says something for the weather that there's half a dozen cockatoos crowded round the back door, waiting, patiently... well, waiting, anyway, ha ha.

The trouble is they don't stay small and cute...
I'd end up having to make a bigger table, and as for the waffle cone for the ice cream, I can't see myself spending an entire evening making one that's big enough...
Then there's exercising it... all that walking it on a lead until it's big enough to ride it home from the pub... ha ha.
It's very cute, but I think it'd be too much of a commitment to take on, ha ha.

I came outside and the old man bird was sitting on the perch by the back door...
I thought I'd top up the drinking water using the time honoured method of 'pour water into it and when it overflows, it's full...', ha ha.
The moment the watering can spout touched the edge of the water dish he was over by it like a flash, ha ha...
"Slow down, I can't fill it as fast as you're drinking it...", ha ha...
Well, that's half way to being happy... now for some food...
There aren't any convenient flat surfaces or shelves near the perch, so we had to make do...
I put some seed in a plastic lid and held it up for him to eat from...
He took that idea to be a perfectly normal and natural thing to do... I'm spoiling him, how can that be wrong? ha ha...
He's in for a surprise, tomorrow... after he left, I put a shelf in, conveniently located near the perch.
Hooray for scrap timber and quick thinking... ha ha.

There'll always be people who yearn for the good old days...
Well, they were days, and they're old, and I guess goodness is a relative state... ha ha.

I drew back the curtain and there was a literal explosion of cockatoos from the tree on the other side of the driveway... ha ha...
"He's awake! He's awake!!", ha ha.
They jostled and pushed each other as they flew over the roof... everyone has to get the best position, ha ha.
It doesn't matter that I try to be even handed parcelling out the food for them, it's all about their having the best position... ha ha...
Well, good morning, birds... ha ha.
I had a "I must clean the window" moment... thankfully it passed fairly quickly, ha ha...
There was a perfect opportunity to take a photo of three of the cockatoos sitting, evenly spaced on a bridge, heads tucked over their shoulders, sleeping...
But the opportunity passed, much as I wish this weather would.. it should not be this cold in November...ha ha.

I've been troubled for years by that nagging sensation that something is missing from my life...
This isn't it, but it is a novel idea...
A whale tail squeegee... ha ha.

If only someone would remind them that they're wild birds...
Wild birds that like to have a bit of space because they're wary of people...
Wild birds that run away if they hear a loud noise like "Hey!"....
If only... ha ha.
I reached up to the shelf to put some food there for the birds...
And the front of my jacket lifted up...
So the "wild bird" on the table in front of me decided to get my attention by pushing his cold little beak against my bare skin...
"Hey!"...
"What? You're not paying Me attention, so I thought I'd Get your attention..."...ha ha.
So much for "wild birds" being timid, and easily startled... ha ha.
Thankfully, most of them are, to some degree happy to have their bit of space, it's just the ones who tend to count in millimetres rather than feet that can make life interesting, ha ha.
