It was maybe a light hearted attempt at humour because it was church group and obviously the ones that don't
"get" it seem to be the ones trying to have a "go" at the op.
Crikey,I could never believe in a so called deity - any supernatural being worshipped as controlling some part
of the world or some aspect of life or who is the personification of a force. divinity, god, immortal.
IMHO that would mean a cruel and at least part mongrel to condone the suffering that happens and has
happened on this planet in their name (I just can't believe someone/thing like that does exist and that humanity
is reponsible for it's own suffering).
Bad things happen to "good" people and good things happen to "bad" people (I could never get my head
around how god was responsible for the "good" things that happened in life but was never mentioned when
something bad happened).
Remember the crusades,Isis, etc and the members of the churches that violated against humanity yet
preached in it's name.
History is full of atrocities committed by religion yet it still flourishes because some people have to believe in
something to make their life more bearable and have some sort of purpose in life (just like some people believe
in fairy tales and others don't).
Each to there own as long as you leave me out of it.

I'd be very careful who you mock!
Who are you referring to?

If you were referring to the OP, do you personally know him? I don’t. I am asking because you have judged him to be “godless” and seemingly accuse him of mocking God. Why? Is it because he wrote, “he/she musta been busy”? I assume you have cautioned him to be careful because you believe in a fearsome and punishing God, straight out of the Old Testament. This is exactly the opposite of what Jesus told us. While I don’t know the OP, I have read enough of his comments to know he is essentially a good hearted person. And the God I conceptualize would be amused by his cheeky sense of humour. I’d be more concerned about using God’s name in vain for personal retribution. I don’t think that would be a good idea!

Sheesh. Lighten up.
All David said was God must have been busy.
Where's the mockery?
How do you know David is a godless person anyway.

This is just so - so - what's wrong with the ' religious '.
Agree or disagree - David has his right to express his humour.
We've had our moments - but on the whole - I think he is a good bloke.

Ah the old protestant ethic and spirit of capitalism theory.
Where worldly success could be interpreted as a sign of salvation and God looking after you.
And some people took this to mean the opposite was also true; if you suffered, then you had done something to deserve it. You hadn't been good enough.
Of course, there is the alternative Christian view-that bad things can happen to good people and your reward won't be on earth, it will be in the afterlife.
Let's go with that, shall we?
