Catholic schools get government funding anyway? now university money is going towards private schooling. wth.
if Catholics want their own little private indoctrination schools- fine- but they should pay for them. fgs just call the Vatican.

Catholic schools form the second largest sector after government schools, with around 21% of secondary enrollments.
Most Australian Catholic schools belong to a system, like government schools, are typically co-educational and attempt to provide Catholic education evenly across the states. These schools are also known as 'systemic'.
Systemic Catholic schools are funded mainly by state and federal government with some funding by fees paid by parents and have low fees.
The ones with high/outrageous fees are non systemic......

am - does it say what cuts to university funding will be made?
i.e. is it even talking about funding for domestic students?
will it be cuts in funding for attracting international students?
will it be cuts in funding for non curricular services provided by a university?
will it be cuts in funding for research?
There are just so many kinds of funding that universities do receive.

I dont have the time, or the inclination to show you stats am3.
Churches should be taxed. Catholics should fund their own schools. why is that so hard to understand> you dont have to agree with me.

In my area there is a Catholic high school with an expensive near new building and a grammer school with an expensive new building and other improvements in recent years. Shouldn't they receive less funding when they can evidently afford to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars ?

Would a restful holiday help?

That just tells me you can't prove what you claim. Why should I or anyone else take it seriously?
Churches being taxed - is another topic from Govts handing out funding to public and private schools and cutting funding to Uni's in doing so.

You will have to try harder duff......
Catholics do fund their own schools. As has been pointed out, they also pay GST.
No Church pays tax.

No, they should.t receive less funding. Should there be no new schools, should schools be unable to expand (build new classrooms) due to rising student enrolments?
In my area there is one brand new Catholic High School ( there are a few Catholic Primary schools that would feed into it, previoiusly there was only 1 Catholic High School).
I see that as less pressure on the exisitng state High Schools (which are bulging at the seams) if the Catholics are able to build a new school and enrol several hundred high school students.
In areas where there is a large increase in housing, obviously new schools are needed. Will the Govt build new public high schools? I haven't seen any. But the independent schools are building them (we also have a new Anglican School).
