Catholic schools get government funding anyway? now university money is going towards private schooling. wth.
if Catholics want their own little private indoctrination schools- fine- but they should pay for them. fgs just call the Vatican.

Churches should be taxed. Catholics should fund their own schools. why is that so hard to understand> you dont have to agree with me.
Again why single out the Catholics? There are Anglicans, Seventh Day Adventists, etc. that run their own schools.
Independent schools in Australia make up nearly 15% of total enrolments while Catholic schools, which usually have lower fees, also make up a sizeable proportion (18%) and are usually regarded as a school sector of their own within the broad category of independent schools (some independent schools are affiliated with Catholic religious orders.

Is that high school a systemic or non systemic and how much funding from Gov. was given to it?

The new building at the local Catholic high school is a 2 storey gym am*3.

Do students not need a gym?

Withdraw or lower Govt funding from private schools, less parents will be able to afford to send their children there, more children will require public school education.......

A gym or a multi purpose centre?
All schools were eligible to apply for a $3 million dollar grant towards either a MPC or a library.
From memory it had something to do with supporting the building industry.

One point thats been missed is that the value of the better education that is provided is a good return on funds provided.
and the parents that send kids to private schools tend to earn more and also pay more tax and expect better than any public system can offer

Scholarships are available to private schools. There are quite a few lower income families that can afford to send their child to a private school, if the child gets a scholarship (Academic, Sports, Music).

the downside for private schools is larger class sizes. as long as the public schools recieve enough funding to be on a par with them its not a problem. i have heard some complaints from people who don't want to send children to catholic schools because of negative sentiment toward them, which is understandable. they want the same standard away from any church influences .. which is a valid point.

am3, I could run off and find you stats blah blah but that would be pointless wouldnt it.
Im not asking you to take what I say seriously, or anyone else.
So, no trying harder Az.
Hawk, any child can prosper within any system, I wouldnt say children get a better education going private.
