Just back on the air after a power outage from this morning.

I have lived here most of my life but never witnessed

any flood as bad as this.

We had a house floating down the Manning River this

morning. We ventured out during a lull in the weather this

morning. I couldn't believe what I witnessed. It's pouring

down outside still. I have some pic's to share once the phone

is charged.

To think, when I moved to Darwin over 40 years ago, friends warned me about the weather up here and cyclones and such.  There have been far more "unprecedented weather events" throughout the rest of Australia over those years than we have ever had here.

Yup, right in the middle of those north and south of me, and it was coming down in bucket loads here and now has suddenly gone very quiet with a bright grey sky........

No electrical storms yet,  but have just had a SEQ warning for S/Coast and South Burnett so battening down the hatches
