Re: will someone please turn down the heat

you're supposed to wet them... in cool water...

swear to god, have a go.

Think about it, your head and yopur feet are where all the heat leaves your body in winter, so it makes sense that this is what you should cool in summer

and I'm sure there is a medical/scientific reason for it, but FIIK what it is, so just have a try...

it'll make you feel good

or even just a bucket of cool water LOL

I should stop worrying about my kitties. My Birman got heat exhaustion as a kitten once. We had to wrap her in a wet towel and hold her up to the aircon. It was 20 mins before she stopped panting!

Severe storm warning now. Shouldn't that bring the temp down?

Surely?

It is really hard to not worry when you have had an experience like that... even worse when you have to leave them alone to go to work for the day. I think they will be fine... Heart

Re: will someone please turn down the heat

folks, if you're not on water restrictions, now that the sun has gone down, go outside and hose the house down.

It will cool the structure down and cool the temp inside as well.

Re: will someone please turn down the heat

My daughter has a long haired cat. She wipes her down with a damp towel -that seems to help.

[Another cat is moving in next week. I can't wait.]

Re: will someone please turn down the heat

Could be because the humidity is rising.

fgs miaux  cats have survived being thrown down drains, abandoned on city streets in the middle of traffic, found their way over thousands of miles after being accidently left behind.

They'll be fine. Lay them on the bathroom tiles and keep their ears wet.
