Re: will someone please turn down the heat

According to the gurus on the weather forum I lurk on, the change is coming through ahead of schedule. Good to get some relief from the heat a bit earlier than expected, not sure if it will help or hinder the fire fighting efforts though.

Re: will someone please turn down the heat

The high temps and expected squally winds is a frightening combination.

I hope everyone evacuated early in Halls Gap and surrounds, with that change coming through early they wont have as long to get out as first expected, looks like it could hit there any minute now 😞

My girlfriend and her husband run a B & B in Pomonal, in the Grampians, they have been told to leave now or it will be too late..

Bluecat the high temps and squally winds is not a good combination.

Punch, hope they are right and the change comes early particularly where the fires are.

It isnt windy where I am..........well not yet anyway

Re: will someone please turn down the heat

I hope they are out and safe, there may be some caught off guard with the early change thinking they had a bit of time up their sleeve.

having said that, i really dont understand why anyone would leave it till the last possible minute to get out. I'd have been gone sometime yesterday.

Yesterday the fires were not near them, but they are now, and they have gone, not sure where, back towards Melbourne I woud assume, Pomonal has a population of about 50.

Me.........first sign of smoke or CFA saying fire near by, I would be gone...........everything is ready, even boxes for the chooks..

Actually, not sure if that's correct, may have just been a typo in the emergency updates.

Sad. I hope that there are no further fatalities.
