I'd really like to change my security code on my wireless network, it is so long and complicated , but I can't find any way to do it. I can find it on my pc when I look but not any way to change it. Any ideas please?

Hello,
You can change your key (password) but it's not very wise. More it's complicate, the more your LAN is secure.
Normally you can register your password on your computer for an automatic connection without to write your key each time.
To do so you have to go in the properties of your connection and chech "connect automatically when this network is in range", assuming you have W7
If you still want to change, I can help you but it's another process.
Let us know
Good luck

Thanks Bluereboot. I use Win 7 and it's on auto connection, but sometimes ppl come over who want to use my wifi (which is ok as I have a good download capacity) and my password is about 20 characters long (I went a bit mad) so would prefer something shorter. Right now I have to connect an ereader to my wifi and trying to type on that virtual keyboard is really difficult and I keep making mistakes. .

Maybe the installation software for your modem router will allow you to reconfigure the password. If not, you can use your web browser to change the modem settings, but you'd need to really know what you are doing.
What is the brand and model of your modem?

Moonlight it's a Netgear Wireless-G Modem Router DG834G but someone set it up for me and I'm too nervous to go there. as I'm scared of messing up bigtime. I just hoped there might've been a simpler way to do it on the PC.

Hello bright.ton
It's me Bluereboot, I have 2 ebay account.
So, if you don't want to go in your router settings, you can try to share your connection via your computer. There are plenty explication on the web. Example:http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-share-an-internet-connection-in-windows-7.html
Long time I didn't try this.

May be better for your demand
But the best, it's to try to go in your router settings.
Good luck

Wireless modems can be a bugger to configure and troubleshoot when things go wrong, so as long as your internet works, and you know your password, I recommend that you leave things as they are.
I do not recommend that you try to change the password yourself.

Thanks for the links bluereboot and I've had a good look at them and obviously I'd have to go into the modem settings, so I think I'll take Moonlight's advice and leave it all alone as I don't want to open a can of worms. Anyway at least with 25 characters I know my password is secure, lol.
Thanks again . :-).
