WiFi Help

I am thinking of getting a cheap tablet but don't have WiFi in my home.. Is there any kind of adapter I can buy which I can either

A: Plug into the PC via USB and use the internet connection that way

B: Plug into the wired modem/router to transmit a wireless signal,

Would something like this work:

I have'nt tried this but an ad-hoc wireless network between the PC and Tablet with the PC being your wireless and internet server for the tablet, will work.

I've been meaning to try it soon, because a friend asked me this very same question recently.
