Choose and Change (New Game)

Let's try this new game... 🙂

You have a word and have to write a sentence with an antonym of this word (it must not be a perfect antonym/opposite). The sentence must contain at least three other words (not including articles, pronouns etc.)

The next poster then chooses a word from the sentence of the previous poster (not the antonym, any other word) and builds a new sentence with the antonym of the word he or she has chosen.

For example:

START - She finished her delicious meal in no time.

The antonym of "start" is "finish/finished", so the next poster has to choose between "delicious", "meal" and "time" (the antonym can't be used) and has to write a sentence with the antonym of the chosen word and with at least three other nouns.

Let's get started... 🙂

HERMIT - Shampira K. -  the latest bad-girl socialite famous for being famous - giggled as she quaffed another vodka, fluttered her eyelashes, flicked her shiny straightened tresses, and began to dance tipsily to the next song with all the gusto and grace of a rubber ducky bobbing in the bathtub.

TIPSILY - He soberly comtemplated the direction his life had taken, and made the decision to change almost everything - his job, his attitude, his style of dress, his friends ..... even his girlfriend as he realised she was encouraging the behaviour he was determined to change.

MADE - With a roar of toddler annoyance at the entire universe, the 2-year-old threw himself on top of the sand castle which his older sister had carefully created on the white sands of the beach, which caused little Dee-dee to scream and cry as she watched her beautiful castle destroyed in an instant.

BEAUTIFUL - When she looked in the mirror for the first time after her surgery, she was horrified to discover that, instead of looking much more beautiful, the surgeon had completely botched the job, and her previously quite pretty face was now a hideous lopsided mask.

NEVER - It had been drummed into the children that they must always remove their shoes before entering their house, but they found it rather confusing that most of their friends didn't have to abide by the same rule.

DRUMMED - Chloe twirled a red curl around her finger, musing dreamily about the dinner party planned for that night; “Has Stephanie mentioned in what colour the dining room walls have been repainted?” she muttered to herself, for if it was baby blue, her new green dress would clash.

NIGHT - It was the worst time for his partner to insist on staying out late as he had a very important work meeting in the morning, and he was quite upset that she seemed completely unconcerned about his feelings.

WORK - Carlotta adjusted the thin strap of her scarlet bikini top as she settled down on the lounger in her favourite position on the deck; ah, this was the life, relaxing under blue skies, ordering margaritas, taking a selfie and uploading it to her Instagram account…
