SALE - She scolded herself for crying, but a trickle of tears continued down her cheek as this particular dress was both comfortable and flattering - but poor Rufus and Bailey hadn’t done it on purpose, so she wrapped her arms around the dogs and whispered, “It’s all right, you’re good dogs and I love you both”, then activated her iPad to search the site of the dress’s designer; to her relief and delight, not only was the dress in stock in her size, but it was still significantly discounted as part of the extended Black Friday sale!

EMBROIDERED - Relieved, Grace leant back on to her beautiful embroidered cushion, and briefly closed her eyes as they were feeling rather irritated from her tears, then smiled at Bailey and Rufus, who wagged their tails and appeared to smile back.

LATER - Later on, having worked on two projects that day, Grace was rather tired but pleasantly conscious of having knotted out some tricky problems; she put down her work and stretched, then let her eyes fall on the tempting chocolate dessert she’d made before the dress issue, and - oh dear! could she resist?

GOOD - The dessert tasted every bit as good as she had hoped, and the tempering of the chocolate had worked perfectly - the chocolate had a lovely shine just as it should.

DANK - After that delicious indulgence, Grace played with the dogs for a while, rolling them over and over on the floor (which they loved), and finally when they were outside in the fenced backyard for some doggy time, she picked up the book she’d been reading, set in Norway (or was in Denmark?), with the main character tied up in a dank cellar after tracking down the weird-looking witness of a murder whose behaviour had seemed off-kilter…

KEPT - Although she was trying to focus on the book and its convoluted plot, she kept looking out the window at the dogs, laughing at their antics and they chased each other, their own tails, and any flying insect or bird that dared to enter their yard.
