I have been noticing excessive postage from American and UK sellers. Example, 262484146882 = US $59.

Example, 262484146882 = US $59.51 for an item smaller than a pen.

143674775564 = GBP 60.76 for a switch about fist size and weight. This seller advised me that he didn't even set a postage                                                                   price. He delisted the item once he got my screen shot.

283979538358 = US $400.45 for a larger item, but the seller was unaware the automatic price was so high- similar items in                                                                    the U.S. have postage prices of about USD$150 or so.... ( they are heavy)

The issue seems to be mostly on items where the postage is being sent by eBay. This is a huge disincentive to buy good from these people. I would have been ok with the last one's postage if it was in the $150 range like similar items.

It's called the Global Shipping Prgram, and it is run by Pitney Bowes, a global logistics company. Not eBay.

Half the time the problem is that the seller doesn't include accurate dimensions and weights, the rest of the time you possibly couldn't buy from the sellers because they don't ship overseas and the GSP is deemed a local postage service. And every single one of those listings has the shipping price shown upfront.

Search the 'buying' board for GSP facts. There is a wealth of information in that thread, which I'm not going to repeat here.

It would have been good if you had actually done some research into the matter, before contacting any sellers to complain about something of which you have no idea.  The seller would have only been responsible for postage to their local  GSP, but now they have removed the item, well done.  Sellers who use the GSP, generally love it, as they only pay local post and the GSP takes care of and accepts responsibility for all the various International requirements.
