I've now stopped using eBay in favor of Amazon due to the slow delivery by the new courier company which was hopeless. eBay was my first choice before when austpost delivered items but not anymore, Worst case I had to go to the post office for some items. eBay has broken a good service which is a great shame.

What new courier company is this?
If you mean Sendle, they are far from new and are not a courier company
The seller chooses what postal service they use, and Australia Post is as it always has been one of the options
It also shows the service that they will use to post on the listing, so in chooses the seller, you choose that service
Not broken
And they are not going to know if you use eBay or not

AP has always and remains available, don't know where you get the idea otherwise. The fact that your worst case required you to go to the post office, indicates it was an AP delivery.

If you had to go to the Post Office, surely it should have occurred to you that it was an Australia Post delivery. You should be grateful for this one, that it was not dumped on your doorstep and stolen instead.

susm_127,
Yes we all like Australia Post , including the OP who said that he dislikes slow courier deliveries and the worst that can happen with Australia Post , is that you may have to go to the post office to pick up occasionally.
susm_127,
Did you open a case for an item not received under eBay's Money Back Guarantee ?

And for goodness sake, read a seller's feedback before buying anything.

I’ve just ordered something in Australia and it’s coming via AusPost. I think Aus post is totally reliable. At least that’s my experience. When auspost did lose track of a parcel a year or so ago they covered the cost to the sender and I received a replacement delivery from sender via AusPost.
