US Postage

Can you tell me why postage on US items is so expensive please? I wanted to buy an outfit for a Barbie doll and the postage was $50!! Almost as much as the item itself. I can hardly believe that the US postal system charges so much. Is this a way for the sellers to inflate their income?

I refuse to pay these ridiculous prices.

Go on the USPS  web site and calculate the postage yourself.  Then you will know if you are being ripped off or not.  Note that most sellers will use some form of express post for international sales.  Edit  forgot to mention  that  parcel services must be used and the minimum charge in the US is for parcels  up to  2.5lb  or there abouts.

Mostly because sellers in USA and UK have been opted into the Global Shipping Program.

If you see something you want and the listing has the GSP then ask the seller if they will send via USPS instead.

Some will and some won't.

Keep in mind anything imported into Aus will attract the new 10% import tax on item plus postage.
