So, On 31/10 I won an auction for an item listed as $30 for shipping by Fastway courier from Sydney to Townsville. The seller then sent it by Australia post the next day. 11 days later and it's still not here and I'm not happy. Australia post online tracking is not showing any movement of the item since lodgement on 1/11. I contacted the seller today, who reckons that he was quoted way too expensive by Fastway, so just sent by post and sees no reason to apologise for this. I got an online quote from Fastway of between $28-35 and the guy has paid $36 via Aus Post so something's not right there. The item is insured for $450 value, so not I'm worried about the money spent.. i just want my damned item!!! The seller has lodged an investigation with Aus post and stated that I'm welcome to follow up further, but that's not the point.. it should never have been sent by Aus post in the first place!!! GRRRR!!!! The nuts and bolts of the problem is: 1. Seller not honouring terms of sale - changing shipping without consultation 2. My item not here yet and I expected it last week and 99.999% sure I would have it already if sent by correct means 3. Item is totally unique therefore not purchasable elsewhere... and I reeeally want it otherwise I wouldn't shell out $450. What advice do people have? Even if the item turned up tomorrow... what should I do regarding giving feedback once the transaction has completed? Is sending via an alternate shipping method without consulting the buyer acceptable practice? The guy has been prompt and helpful.. apart from the issue of sending via wrong method and not being willing to acknowledge the wrongness in this..? At the moment, I'd love to give him a negative feedback, but seeking advice from more serious ebayers about whether I have grounds? Any advice is welcome! Thanks,
