What is Marketplace GmbH

I was charged $49.99 for an annual fee from Marketplace GmbH.

It says this is an annual fee since 2020. This is news to me. I have not sold anything on ebay ever and have not purchased anything since feb 2023. 

My ebay and Paypal have 2 factor authentication, I never recieved any codes?

Have I been Hacked?

It's for eBay Plus. Something you signed up to, presumably in 2020.

Unless you cancel it through your eBay Plus page it will happen every year

Other members are not going to pay your fees for you.

You signed you, you agreed to the fees for doing so

Posting on the member to member forum will not cancel it.

Nothing to do with selling fees , but whatever it was you signed up to (eBay Plus/ Smartycash back etc

You will be charged the fees you agreed to when you signed up until you cancel

Anyone who *really* did'nt sign up would be reporting such unauthorised charges to their bank, canceling their card and getting them to investigate  AND reporting the charges to eBay as a compromised account

Pointless to post unsubscribe. YOU need to do so yourself, not by posting on a member to member forum. As has been explained a hundred times over. Use the link you were given when you signed up. or the link given here on the forum many times, including this thread you have twice commented on within one minute

I was also ripped off last year, cancelled the 'service' and got a refund of the $49.

But again, they processed the payment today (Dec 1st) so I just sorted the refund out through PayPal. I can't get thru to anyone at eBay so I'm just going to close my eBay account. I don't need this **bleep** in my life. Good luck with your identical problem.

That's a great idea, that'll save you reading the T&C's before you accept an offer (on eBay anyway.....].

You'll need to end the item you have listed first, especially if you either have'nt singed up to Managed Payments at all, or don't think the 30 day holds on funds will apply to you since you will be seen as a new seller. Nothing stopping you contacting eBay, who are not responsible for cancelling the eBay Plus for you

Legally they will be able to persue you for any funds they believe are owing so you will need to cancel your eBay plus membership and ensure that you don't sign up again.

If you click on "account" then " subscriptions" there will be a link to cancel and if you cancel a yearly membership within 14 days of renewal, you can contact customer service for a refund. They usually send a message before they renew to remind you.

Only you can do that, posting a random comment on an old post on the member to member forum will not cancel it, refer to the information you were sent when you signed up, or read any of the posts here which have given the link dozens of times over

No idea what Markerplace GmbH (sic)  is (not what it is called)

How is it you have feedback if you claim you have not bought anything from sellers on eBay? (AND you have left sellers feedback?)

When you signed up to whatever it is, you agreed to the charges for doing so

Did you ever accept the free trial, and failed to cancel, if so you signed up. Does your account show you are an ebay plus member.

So if you say you have'nt signed up, and you have been charged the fee, have you contacted your bank to report an unauthorised transaction so they can cancel your card and investigate, plus contacted eBay so they can freeze your account and find out who used it to sign up ?

These are real charges and not messages from scammers saying you have been charged, I take it?

Other members have no idea if you have been hacked or not

Did you sign up to the eBay Plus free trial and fail to cancel before the paid (yearly fee) kicked in (which you would have agreed to if you did sign up) or someone whom you allow to use your account?

Fees are not just for buying and selling

If you sign up to something to get a voucher/a free trial etc, you tick you read and greed to the t&c of ding that

Including fees you need to pay

Have you contacted eBay?

Have you changed your passwords etc?

Questioned your bank?
