Getting funds that are on HOLD

I have sold an item but never knew about HOLD. (I have been on EBAY for over 20 years and this system has never been forwarded to me) Apparently the buyer was supposed to let me scan a QR code on uplifting the item. This he never did. Therefore the funds remain HELD. So my question is: who gets these funds?

Holds for new/infrequent sellers, have been in place for ages, six or seven years, or thereabouts, and was conveyed to members via messages and updates.

In any event you agree to the T&C's at time of listing, not those from 20 years ago.

As you do not have proof that the item was picked up, you will just have to wait the 30 days for your funds to be released.

Note:  Funds on hold are exactly that, they do not accrue interest, and apart from eventually being released to you, they can only be used for one purpose, to refund the buyer in the event of a dispute.

Did you complete sign up to Managed Payments and be verified before selling?

Your last feedback as a seller on this profile says it was from 'more than a year ago'

Ergo, like all sellers who have not sold for that long, eBay consider you a 'new' seller

(it does not matter how long you have been a member, nor how much you sold 'more than a year ago')

Did you not actually read what you ticked you had read and understood when listing?

Managed Payments cam in over three years ago, and 'holds' have been in place for ages

It is up to you (and all members) to keep up with changes

The buyer not scanning the QR code is not the reason (but could certainly be an issue if the buyer by any chance  is dishonest

If you have not signed up to Managed Payments, the funds have nowhere to go

If you did sign up, you will need to wait the 30 days like everyone else
