For some reason, eBay asked for an ID to verify again. This was on the 17th of May. The requirements are completely unreasonable. I was not allowed to use KeyPass. I had to use a passport as I did not care/want to drive.
The document was uploaded on the 23rd after they insisted that KeyPass could not be used.
The calls:
I called after, and the operator said 2 working days.
After that, I called again and now they told me to wait 5 days, until Friday.
I called this afternoon. The operator now claims there is a "technical error", "not our fault", "this does happen sometimes". He even said it has happened to him which I genuinely cannot believe. This guy gave me a very uneasy feeling. He told me to wait 2 more working days which I doubt will resolve this issue.
Most of my sales are done internationally, I am at over $300 out of the pocket in international freight. This is getting very frustrating. How does it take 5 days to manually verify a passport?
Has anyone had similar issues? If so, may I ask you how it was resolved?
Thank you for the help.
An ebay account can be reviewed at anytime, and can be triggered by external parties. It is likely your ID verification will be very thorough, with greater scrutiny than your initial verification and this is likely to take extra time.
It is unlikely ebay CS will have access to the review status and in certain cases it can be illegal for ebay to divulge information to you.
KeyPass ID has limited acceptance, and is obviously not accepted by ebay.
