WARNING re Postage

WARNING to ALL Sellers.

Do you realise the ebay is classing POSTAGE as "INCOME".

Postage IS NOT income as it obviously goes to whoever you post/send your item with.

THIS IS A CRIMINAL ACT by ebay and NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH.

If you sell low prised items eg, $1 - $5 YOU MAKE NOTHING out of the "sale".

Ebay is RIPPING YOU OFF.

Postage IS income.

Offset by the cost, which may or may not be the same.

As a, presumably business, seller, surely you understand how the taxation system works? If not, maybe not wait FOURTEEN years to complain

Good grief - get yourself an accountant.

When you lodge a tax return - you offset sales by costs to make those sales.

What's left over is taxable.

Auctions aren't as popular as they used to be.

You'd make a lot more money if you stopped listing auctions  starting at $1 , $5  etc , with  a much higher buy it now price.  Some are  only receiving one bid . You're giving them away.

Either start your auctions at  much higher  $$$  or list as a Buy It Now only.

Are you referring to ebay FVF applying to the total invoice, including postage.  If so it has been the case for ages and all approved by ACCC.

So you state you are aware of a criminal act

Obviously you have reported what you know to the police and the ATO

What did they tell you?

Are they going to look into it?

GST................Goods and Services Tax.......................postage is a "Service".............
