Hello I (as a seller) have encountered a very bizarre case. It involves total strangeness from buyer, another seller and AusPost. Any hints on what happened are appreciated. I sold a used PlayStation portable console. With tracking but no signature nor insurance since the total amount is not very high ($89) and delivery address is in the same state so I thought it wouldn't have problems. 1 week later buyer filed an item not received case with eBay without contacting me first. I looked up tracking information, it's still at Melbourne's processing centre. However I found this PlayStation portable console for sale by another seller in buyer's suburb. I'm sure it's my PlayStation since this seller had copied and pasted my original item description which had 10 lines of text. Photo also shows exact same wear and tear (there was a pen mark which was also on the exact same location). My sale inclued 2 new after market batteries in plastic wrapping which are there too. This seller and the buyer also sell same items in their accounts (windows 10 recovery USB). So I thought this is the case of AusPost skipped scanning on delivery and buyer used this oppotunity to get the item for free, by selling it via another account of his. I contacted buyer saying maybe the item was stolen, and he completely avoided the topic and kept repeating AusPost tracking does not have proof of delivery, and asked for refund. I contacted eBay and was told if tracking shows item is still with AusPost then I should contact AusPost. I created an account with AusPost and filled a missing item form. A week later buyer informed me the item is "onboard for delivery" in another state, and he escated this case soon after. I logged in AusPost and found my case was closed because tracking is updated that the item is "onboard for delivery" in another state. It's impossible that I got delivery address wrong. Because I print delivery labels from within eBay and pack the items at the same time. I keep all these PDF labels in files and there is no label showing items going to that seemingly random suburb. It seems to me that not only this buyer was trying to get the item for free. AusPost also tried to scam me by pretending the item is still there (althought I am 100% sure it's stolen already), and they even attempted to delivery something that no longer exists. So AusPost can avoid the $50 compensation. Any hints on what happened are appreciated. Thank you.
