Hi there, I am new to eBay selling. I was just doing some research lately and notice a few low-cost items that are selling for $1 including postage within Australia. How is that even possible without making a loss since the cheapest postage Australia Post do is $1? I thought this might a loss leader item for the seller but eBay is saying the seller has sold thousands of these items.
Any ideas?

Heh. That's kind of funny. My head office at my regular job sent us a box of postage paid envelopes. So I guess when we mail something it first goes to head office to get lodged properly to be sent to the customer. delivery time must be nearly 2 weeks.
It also occurs to me that my company (with over 100 retail outlets, so pretty big) is ripping AP off since we should really pay postage to get it to HO.

Not if you have an internal delivery/courier service.

I just bought a button battery for $1, there was a $1 stamp on the envelope and I received it within 3 days. This really made me feel strange.

This is absolutely ridiculous on the part of EBay. I am unable to list anything unless it’s under those terms.
