Does ebay charge if the listing lasts over the 4 day free period?

It is free to list for 3, 5, 7 or 10 days duration as long as the listing is started in the 4 day free listing time frame.

No, the duration can be for any of the allowed timeframes, and will be free as long as it's created/listed during the promotional period.
