150 Free Listings starting tomorrow 17/2

It appears I'm first for once.

Just got an email from Ebay, link http://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/promo/2664 (the usual number) offering 150 free listings from 17/2 - 26/2.

Worked on the account that got the email, other account said 'by Invitation Only'

Will keep trying on the second account just in case...

Unfortunately, there are 'some' who use this forum to send sarcastic remarks which are completely unfriendly and not at all helpful.  Always hiding behind an unused  i/d or I/D's

We all have a different story and sell for different reasons.   Some of us are retired, unemployed .... others are in employment.  And in some cases, some are helping others (as in casbit's case).

The simplest solution is ....Firstly,  if you don't have a helpful answer, just keep reading and reply to the ones you can help.

Secondly, if you get a sarcastic reply to your post ..... just ignore it, you don't need to explain your situation to anyone !

"Sarcasm is the wit of a fool !"

Yes, we do all have our own story, and it matters not one bit what everyone's situation is, but this constant begging/demanding free listings becomes a bit much after awhile. The only time you appear Dot is when there is mention of free listings, or you come in begging for them. The stores used to get regular promotions too, I think they got 3 last year and so far only one this year. What will you do if eBay decides to drop the promotions for non stores too?

What would you do if eBay decided to revert back to the old days where ALL items were charged a listing fee? Or a bit later where you got free listings each month, until you became a powerseller, then you paid for all listings?

There is far too much "entitlement". I want, I need, I have to have, gimme, gimme, gimme, it's my right. The more people beg, demand, cry, the more chance there is of eBay saying "stuff this, we'll show them what happens when you demand" and pull them altogether. Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

$20 to you might be easy to find but after all the bills are paid, I'm lucky to have a spare $20 per month, so a store or two is not an option. I know the people I sell for can't afford it either. I don't even charge them anything for my selling service and I never will.

I wish it wasn't so hard to do the right thing helping people out.

Do you have over 2000 items listed, or that you can list? If you have them sitting there ready to list, well yes you would be able to afford a store ... you would be making more money to cover it ๐Ÿ™‚

Indeed ebay does suck if your a seller.  But what do they suck?  Maybe better not to answer that!

Quite a few of them are sitting in my unsold section, but they have to sell before I could afford to open a store.

That's a very strange comment ?

I always have more free listings than I can deal with.   Have been getting 100 to 150 each month for months on end.  I have no need to "beg"  ..       I always post the link .... the last one I posted was for stores only (but not for me).

Maybe I should take my own advice and ignore the sarcastic comments you post to myself and many others.

Re: 150 Free Listings starting tomorrow 17/2

It sounds like you need to increase your prices a bit because it sounds like you're running at a loss. I would also be charging the people you are selling for the ebay fees. You're not a charity and obviously doing it tough, so why should you pay all the fees and they get any profits?

Selling is hard enough, increasing my prices would only make things harder.

I don't think of myself as giving charity to people, just helping some that really need it. There shouldn't be a price attached to that.

In all the posts you've made (1875 according to your last post) I don't think I've ever read you be so down on as you've been on a couple of posters on this thread.

Lighten up a little please.  Everyone does what they do on eBay for their own reasons.  And these boards are not intended to make others feel lesser because they don't list/sell the way you, or other long time sellers do it.

As it was comments made, rather than asking for advice, my opinion is your reaction to those posts has been totally OTT.

Too bad that you were so otherwise engaged to let me know if you tried what I posted about getting the free listings - whether it worked for you or not??!!
