The free for all free listing days seem to be over. One of the reasons I've been saying for ages not to become dependant on them. Even with 1,000 or unlimited listings I never had much more than 150 active. I didn't want hundreds and hundreds of listings sitting in unsold if the pulled the promotions, which they seem to have done this year.

Whilst I can sympathise with you regards not recieving the free listings, ebay has systems in place for people who want to list more than the allocated 40 free listings. You can pay the smallish fee and start a store. Unfortunately if your sales dont justify the expense of a store, there cant be enough demand for the items you are listing.

Ebay needs to rationalise listings somehow or it will become choked with "Stuff" no-one wants to buy. This will clog searches for buyers and prevent sellers of more saleable items finding buyers. On top of this Ebay will have the expense of carrying millions of listings for non saleable items. This is not good for anyone.

There are a couple of solutions to your problem. One is to use multiple selling ID,s and use the free listings from each. The other is to look at the items you sell and identify the regular, consistent sellers and the duds. Concentrate your efforts on the consistent sellers and cull the duds that no-one wants to buy.

As well as being able to be accepted on the link that dot2004 posted, today I received an email offering me the promotion.

My feeling is that particularly as it is getting close to Christmas, there will be more promotions in the near future.

Let's hope so, for everyone's sake.  And I hope that if that happens, all have a prosperous selling time.

We've only missed out on extra freebies last month so I wouldn't make assumptions about never getting any more.

I know some people haven't had them for a long time but most people have, except for late last month.

It always said expired for me, but I suspect that it always will because I had that offer quite a few months ago.

You talked about multiple ID's. I already have 8 because I sell for other people that cannot do it for themselves.

The problem is also about the auto relists not working. I should have had 40 items relisting every 10 days throughout the month, but they just ended on every account.

also - who's to say that no-one wants my items.  I think we have all had items running for a long time then suddenly sell them at some time or another. Just because one person wont buy it, doesn't mean everyone won't either. Everyone is different, what appeals ot one, won't appeal to another.

If ebay Australia would get rid of all the chinese junk, that would free up space for Aussie sellers to sell their items.

Why would ebay need to rationalise listings anyway. The more items listed, the more sales and more money ebay make. It's not rocket science, just common sense.

The words "ebay" and "common sense" should never be used in the same sentence....they are not compatible.

I would say that ebay has to limit listings because of server limitations....there are certainly many more Chinese listings than there were a decade ago.

Same thing has just happened to me accepted the 150 Free listings on the 18th to start 20th today at 0000. Checked this morning and said all 150 used. Rang Ebay was told would look at it Phone dropped out about 10 mins later. Rang back and went through the process again Rep said a selling problem and would transfer me Guess what dropped out again. Rang back 3rd time and Rep tried to tell me I had used them all asked for a Supervisor Rep said would find one. After waiting another 20 mins on hold was advised No Supervisor available but Rep advised as it appeared to be a one off fault list up 150 and I would be refunded at the end of the Month. Have reference Number so will give it a go. I advise anyone who has accepted the 150 to check they are not being charged for them. If so contact Ebay as they have it down as a one off fault well thats 2 of us already.

Off-topic a little, but it's always best to get CS to call you back, more chance of getting a decent rep and less chance of being cut off - and it costs you nothing.
