Just had a squiz Helen and the current eBay help page for relists does "allude" to a limit ...
Your eligibility to relist an item automatically is based on your transactions and sales. When you're eligible to relist an item automatically, you see the option in the listing form. You can see your transactions and sales in your Seller Dashboard in My eBay.
Being a store or non store owner is not mentioned anywhere, I don't think this would affect the relists if it is based on sales volume or turnover, but hey who knows, when the actual detail is not provided.
Someone, somewhere in eBay will know the answer - but as we have all experienced this will not be the customer service reps.
To get a more definitive answer I would suggest ringing eBay again *groan*
Escalate the call to a supervisor and then request advice in writing from the relevant policy area on the details of how transactions and sales, or seller status affects your eligiblity for the free relists. Be very clear about the advice you are seeking.and reference the eBay published policy. Might take some time to get an answer, but worth it I think, given the stakes.

I have two stores, but am not registered as a business with eBay. I normally get the three free relists on both with a couple of exceptions. On one store I recently changed over to mostly variation listings on GTC, no free relists for these, but still getting the relists on 30 day listings with no variations. Obviously I wouldn't expect to get free relists on GTC as the whole point of GTC is that they turnover and are charged every 30 days. On the other store I list everything for 30 days but only have a handful of listings with variations. The only listings I do not get the 3 free relists for are those with variations, and I have not been able to edit them to add it either. Clearly, variation listings are excluded.

I think it was establised that the cut off is 100 items sold in a year AND sales of more than $10,000 that sees the 3 free relists disappear. EBay will try and tell you that it's one or the other, but as you need 100 sold items to be a powerseller and most powersellers on here still get them, you have to reach both amounts, not one or the other.

It used to say that you had to sell $12,000 a year before they made you a business seller. They removed that bit quite a while ago but I know it used to be there. That's not to say they haven't changed the figure but it was definitely $12,000 when they showed an amount.
The first thing to do is to check your account and see whether you're still classed as an individual or a business seller. You'll find it under Account > Personal Information, then it's the first item (Account type) under Account Information at the top.
I think it's been established that it's a waste of time calling ebay. Many other sellers have done this and none have ever got a proper explanation.

I think you might be right with the $12,000.

We're not talking about the same thing. You're talking about losing AR because of the amount you've sold, but the $12K a year is in relation to becoming a business seller, which can't be reversed once it happens, which means once you're a business seller you'll never get the free auto relists again (not sure about other IDs the seller has). I've sold well over $1K and not lost AR so I'm not sure why you're losing it. I don't think anyone really understands it, except perhaps the person who wrote the program at ebay, and they don't seem to have shared it with anyone else!
Lizzy, you can't edit in bulk to add auto-relisting. You have to do the listings one at a time, unfortunately.

@thecatspjs wrote:In relation to the free relists, when the free relists were introduced a number of years ago now, eBay did have a written policy up that detailed eligibility for the free relists.
Specifically excluded were sellers registered as a business with eBay and also sellers that exceeded a certain level of turnover within a timeperiod. Can't recall the exact details, from memory the $$ amount I think was between $10 - 15K - $12K rings a bell, but its been yonks, so could be very wrong.
Looks like there is some consensus that at some point $12K was the threshold - wonder if its still set at that
Anyone sell over $12K per annum and still get the free relists ?
