Why can't ebay increase the amount to 250 or so for sellers without a store? Especially now that the other promos are pretty much gone.
ebay will still be making money with the fvf and small sellers can at least list a decent amount of items without having to open a store.

@pupeteo wrote:Yes sure. And I am sick of pathetic losers sticking their noses in just to try and sound superior. Move on.
So want a serious critique of why ebay should or shouldnt give everyone 250 free listings.
As already mentioned it costs ebay a lot of money to provide servers, advertise their services, employ CS staff, pay for office space and provide technical support. In fact it costs them so much, that they actually make very little profit at the end of it all. They cant afford to give their intellectual property away for free on an ongoing basis.
Another problem with giving away free listings is the site gets clogged up with low value junk like old videos that may or may not sell for a few dollars. This clogs servers and makes searches much harder for genuine buyers as they have to scroll past all of the junk on the site.
If ebay simply gives its intellectual property ( listing services ) away for free it devalues ebays services and damages the companies image.
If ebay gives its services away for free, people using the service dont value or respect the system, and it tends to attract the sort of morons who abuse the process and other people using the service.

A basic store allows 600 included listings per month, and has slightly lower FVFs which would partially compensate. At a cost of $27.45 per month. Surely your turnover would cover that.
If you have over 400 extant listings then you have either paid a bucketload of insertion fees, or have taken advantage of the (nonexistant according to you) free listings currently available. Make up your mind.

Wow seriously? LOL !
I definitely do think I'm 'SPESHUL' compared to the people on this board so far.
I didn't know ebay doesn't read the boards and I don't know what benefits store owners get or don't get, THAT IS WHY I AM ASKING THE QUESTION. If you can't speak decently and answer the question then get off it.

Would I be right in saying even if the OP isn'y paying insertion fees at the moment, that when the BINs relist they will start getting charged on 430 odd listings ????

A few points.
I am not on anything.
These boards are open to any member to post on, and anybody in the world with an internet connection to read.
You do not own a thread you start and have no right nor power to decide who can or cannot post on said thread.
You seem to be hostile towards anyone who posts facts, rather than validation of your particular POV.
Maybe you should get off it. It certainly seems to be clouding your judgement.

I was seriously hoping for that to be an August 3 surprise.

I have 3 non store accounts. No, I don't think eBay should give non store holders 250 free listings a month. Only thing I'd ask is they increase it to 50, like they have in the US. Why should we get something for nothing, when others have to pay for it? 2 of my accounts have been getting free listing promotions the last few weeks, the other account I am managing the listings so I don't pay any insertion fees.
If you have that amount of listings, which you'd now be getting charged insertion fees for when they relist, you'd be far better off having a store. I'd rather pay $30 a month than $400. Your choice though.
For now, I'll make the most of the free listing promotions that I've been getting, and when they stop, I'll go back to how things were before the promos started.
Stop being needy. Nothing is free in this life. EBay included. How would you feel if you had an investment property and the tenants decided they didn't want to pay rent any more, because they felt they were entitled to a free ride? It's no different here. EBay is a business, and to stay alive, they have to make money. If they gave everything away for free, then they wouldn't last very long.

Not being NEEDY at all.just simply asked a question. No need to cry about it sheesh!
I have only been able to relist my items for the first time in months because I used a listing link that I think you yourself posted here. And no I won't be paying over $400 in fees because I will of course take them off myself before they are relisted thanks.

You didn't ask a question, you made a statement. Quote "40 free listings should be increased for sellers without a store". Not a question.
Edit: Damn, I didn't get accused of being an eBay employee. I'm gutted!

Well I thought YOU being a worker was obvious.
And ' a statement' ?! You people are sad. Ebay is always SO helpful.
