AP Red Street Box Clearance

Anyone know if/not the red street boxes will be cleared today 31st Dec. New Years Eve?

my red box in parramatta nsw was emptied at 4pm today, earlier than normal, usual time is 6pm

Obviously not today as public holiday. Friday is an Australia Post Public Holiday ( yes their own) which they have each year around christmas so whilst franchise PO's should be open the AP owned ones may not be and mail will be going nowhere and there will be no deliveries. HNY

I'm not one to begrudge anybody a well-deserved holiday, but it never ceases to amaze me that Australia Post employees have more days off than virtually anybody else over the Christmas / New Year break, despite its arguably being the busiest time for mail, particularly parcels, during the entire year. I wouldn't mind so much except they happen to be what I consider an essential service, yet it comes to a virtual halt for close to 2 weeks at a time when the public needs them the most. It'd almost be funny if it wasn't so bloody farcical.

The problem is that unless you use red street boxes, you won't be able to post them off until January 5.
