Account hacked in to, ebay dont care!

mscaramello

Yesterday I listed two expensive items with start prices of $500.  I bought them for approx $5000 each and they are bnib.

Last night I watched on my screen powerless as someone cancelled my bids, ended the listing, relisted them with buy it now prices and bought them all in the space of 3 minutes!!!

When I rang Ebay they said that it was not from their end and it had all come from my IP address.

This morning I rang the 'buyer' and told him that my account had been hacked and the items are not longer for sale.

He has left shocking feedback.

Ebay have not acted in any way.

Anyone had this problem?

make contact with the other meile seller, and ask them what occured.
Your case will be stronger if you both approach this together.

Well clearly you've been hacked... ugh! Sorry champ!!

Just a little advice (just in case you didn't know)....

In the last 2 weeks I have recieved 6 emails stating they are from eBay (they look very offical)

But all of them talk about a problem that need's to be addressed and than they leave a link for me to follow into eBay.. if you are to click the link, the first thing that will come up is the area for you to enter in your normal eBay account information... DO NOT ENTER IN ANYTHING...

If you're unsure like I was at first.. may I suggest typing in the ebay address directly into your URL and than log in that way and check your eBay mail... if eBay needs you for whatever reason it will all be there in your eBay inbox.

Great advice, Just kits. When I found 2 of these emails I jumped on to this board first and asked for help. Very quickly some good people lobbed in and told me to under no circumstances click on any links and/or type in any account details. My advice to anyone is, if at all unsure about anything, come on here. Have a great day.

Re: Account hacked in to, ebay dont care!

I logged on to Ebay to buy a new Battery for my lap top, After all the usual clicking I got the pages of Bateries for sale all at different prices. I scrolled through them till I found one that would fit my needs and went on to Buy, As I only use PAYPAL for safety I paid via them . It has taken a month to arrive via AUSPOST. But after trying to leave Feed back Ebay tells me there is no record of sale or seller. How the hell did I buy this battery if the seller who advertised did not exist.

Hi Valtaydor.  This is an old thread and the best thing to do for advice is start a new one.  click on the New Message tab at the top of the selling board.

I'm not sure what the problem could be but it is possible that the lising was removed by ebay for some reason even though you bought and paid for it.  It happens sometimes when there is a problem with a seller.

As long as all is well don't worry about feedback.  If there is a problem  you will need to go through Paypal.
