Can anyone explain to me in plain simple english what this means ??
I keep getting messages saying I have active content that will be turned off but I have no idea why ??
All the items I sell are different and uniqe to the piece , though I do use the same description on some as thats what they are , and other sellers have been copying my descriptions as well for years as they have NFI what things are.
Cheers Rick

You have straight forward listings, so I figure ebay is just giving
you a heads-up on the counter.
Just in case you wanted to howl about losing it.

You have a view counter on your listings.
There's nothing you can do about it.
Ebay will eventually delete it.

As of today, I'm getting warnings for all items uploaded through Turbolister. There is a link after 'powered by eBay Turbolister', to TL presumably.
They don't impact on any other part of my listings, so I will delete the offending part on items I need to edit, if I remember. I certainly won't be going through 2000+ listings to do it specially

Lol, Ive had that counter since 2002 , never paid much attention to it anyway , means little to me has never equated to sales just people copying what you are doing or internet forum "experts" discussing stuff.
Many thanks
Cheers Rick

It is due to your counter, but not because it is Active Content. It's due to another part of the ban which requiresyou to have targets to a new page.
The counter HTML is
<a href="http://pages.ebay.com.au/selling_manager_pro">
It should be
<a href="http://pages.ebay.com.au/selling_manager_pro" target="_blank">
The target="_blank" opens a new tab which is one of the new requirements along with No Active Content

I was editing some listings last night and just above the decription editor was a warning that my listing contained active content, and a link that said "Help me fix it".
When I clicked that, it loaded my description in a new pane, it was (as mentioned above) due to one of the links that's in my template, but all I had to do was click a button that said "remove active content" and it was automatically updated, with nothing changed on any kind of visual or functional level.
I could probably do a bulk HTML edit, but I rarely seem to get bulk edit functions to work, and since I'm currently adding watermarks to all of my images and re-uploading them, I'll do that for each listing while I'm at it (note: this function was via the new listing format, which I've recently been migrated back to, never saw it on the older listing format, just a link to see a preview of descriptions with active content removed).
