I have something to send worth just over $100 and want to cover myself by registering it. Can I pay for and use the C&S 3kg satchel and then get it registered at the PO? Thanks for any advice!

No.
You can pay the extra $1 for signature required though.
Not sure if that gives you up to $100 insurance though.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions. The tracking with signature option will be spot on!

You can purchase extra cover just the same as you can with registered post. You just process the C&S label as you would normally selecting the signature required option which gives cover up to $100 then if your item is worth more than that you purchase the extra cover at the PO. You use the same red lodgement form as you do for registered, there is a box to tick which says Signature item prepared through Click & Send and then on the left you fill in how much extra cover you want.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?
