All Auspost Offices and services closed today 31st Dec?

I was sad to go to 2 different Post Offices today only to find they are closed.

I also called head office 131318 and received an automated message saying closed 😞

I guess theres no use waiting for mail to come today either?

Mine is open and the ones in nearby shopping centres are also open.

Hmmm that gives me a little bit of hope.

I might head to one in the major shopping centre here and see how I go. (Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydore, Qld)

That's interesting.  I understood it was an official AP holiday, but I guess some independents have chosen to open perhaps.

It is the Official AP Picnic day.....there will be no mail delivery and no post offices will be open according to the notices put up before Christmas.  Some PO agencies may be open though, and StarTrack couriers (AP owned) are working.

My little PO was open this morning. Not sure if they are open for a full day or not.

You might as well post on Monday. 

Nothing is going to go anywhere tomorrow due to the holiday and certainly not until after the weekend.

I have been to 4 local POs today all closed tried calling Auspost to find one open of course that is closed 😞 Of course Ebay reckons the POs are open will have to wait until Monday to lodge my parcels and take any defects I get be a nice way to start off 2016. Just hope the buyers do not start moaning when items do not get there by ebays estimates as some are nearly due before I can post them

if I had have known I couldnt post out till monday I would have gone ahead and use Inter Parcel`s couriers please service, it was $2.40 cheaper to send a BX4 but they couldnt have picked it up till Monday. Aus Post is getting pretty slack.

This is a link to the Australia Post notification page. Not sure how long it will remain up but I've taken a screen shot in the admittedly ultra optismistic hope that it may help to have any unwarranted defects removed.
