Are collectible items free to list if you have a basic store?

HI all,  I cannot understand the following: 

"*Auctions within the Collectables category are included in the monthly free listing
entitlement for Stores sellers."

So does this mean, of the 200 free listings I have paid for, is the collectible category "included" in these 200? Meaning if I list 201 items in the collectible category, I will pay a listing fee for the 201st listing? 

OR 

Does it mean I can list 200 of any category free as I have paid for them, plus unlimited in the collectibles category? I am confused.

I hear you. What is frustrating is that they even bother to mention it.
Considering it makes absolutely no difference, it boggles my mind why they brought it up in the first place. It has actually led me to believe they are free. So I have factored that into my business plan and now I am stuffed.

Can you think of a reason why they needed to mention it? considering, as you have outlined, that it makes absolutely not difference to me?

Oh Frak. I think it has finally sunk in. Its their use of grammar, or more my reading of it. They need a comma.

They are actually saying,
List:
A: fixed price, OR
B: Auctions in the collectables category.

They really should have written
"List Fixed Price, or Auction (Collectables only) for FREE every month"
note the comma.
I was reading it for over a year now to mean
"List Collectables, as either fixed price or Auction listings, For FREE every month"

Because 'AUCTIONS' under any other category attract a fee... whether you have a store or not. If you are happy with BINs....then, yes, it probably makes no difference to you....I sell craft items (collectable category), so, it makes a HUGE difference to me, and am so glad it's an option 🙂

I've invested thousands based on sums factoring in a grammatical mistake in my reading.

Essentially I was planning on listing 600 extra collectible listings for free. At the current rate of 50c per listing, thats $300 per month I haven't budgeted for, or more realistically I can get the Feature store for an extra $30 per month and only list another 300 of my new items.

It amazing how much power a tiny grammatical issue can have over ones life.

Ya just gotta laugh.

Not strictly true.  Non-stores can list up to 40 in any category for free.

To the OP, what you're quoting as saying you can list for free in collectibles does NOT say you can list as many as you like.  It's got a link to "learn more", and it ALWAYS pays to read the fine print (terms and conditions).  They're just advertising to let you know that you can get some free listings every month.

If you can auto relist for 3 months you can easily have 800 listings at any one time from just 200 freebies each month. See the other thread that's currently running about free listings.
