Attention: Postage Stamps not Sticking

Hi all,

We have recently been having some problems with postage stamps not sticking to envelopes and falling off in transit. This has resulted in us getting some underpaid postage fines (3 times so far). In one case an item showed up with no stamps on it at all when we know it left here with 2 on it. Most of our items take 2 stamps.

We usually buy either the rolls of 200x or books of 200x. It has happened with both.

We approached our local PO and they actually acknowledged the problem existed for the rolls of 200x only. However, when we phoned AP they dont want to know about it unless we can show proof it is happeneing. How can we do that?

We have taken to taping down the stamps in an effort to overcome the problem. But this adds time to packing of course. We are mailing out approx 20 packages (large letter) each day.

Not quite sure what to do about this one. Any ideas?

Are U using recycled brown envelopes?  I've had big problems with those, but with nothing else - sometimes I think I'll get the iron out & iron the stamps on.

I'm using 20 stamps in a folder.

Clear sticky tape over the stamps

I use prepaid envelopes - no stamps.

We use the rolls of 200 stamps and haven't had any problems on DVD mailers, jiffy envelopes or padded envelopes. Have you tried using a different type of envelope?

Likewise, I use the rolls of 200 stamps and not had any problems on AP padded envelopes or the tough bags.

The envelopes we have been using are those brown-ish/orange ones by PPS from Officeworks. Maybe its those. Not sure if/not they are recycled tho. Maybe these are the problem.

We first had this problem a couple of months back when we bought a roll of 200x. That when the local AP said oh yes there was a batch problem with the rolls.

Then it was OK for a while. Now this week once again but with a booklet of 200x.

We have been putting a strip of clear tape across them now.

Most of ours take 2 stamps.

Some take 3 and yet others only one.

I've had this issue with a couple of rolls of 100x. I just used tape over the top.

C5 up to 500g cost $1.40 singly.

C4 up to 500g cost $2.70 singly

I'm not sure I understand the one stamp. Aren't all large letters a minimum of $1.20 postage. For <125g?

I just use the prepaids, where weight is pretty much irrelevant. My customers don't seem to mind.
