Auction Insertion Fee Vs. Category

We have just inadvertently discovered that the insertion fee of $1.50 is not unilateral.

Yesterday we tried listing one of our items by auction into a different category. Still valid for our kinda stuff but just different. Just trying to find a way to increase our sales. It's dismal at the moment.

Anyway...it kept coming up saying that the insertion fee was $0.00.

At first I thought it was kinda like "Bank error in your favour, collect $200 (well $1.50 anyway)". LOL!

So now it looks like there may be some categories where the auction listing insertion fee is $0.00. Is this true?

If so, how can we find out which categories are $0.00? Is there a list somewhere showing this? Or does one just need to find out by trial & error like we have just done?

Auction Insertion Fee Vs. Category

Auctions in any of the categories considered "collectible" in eBay terms (this includes crafts, beads and others people wouldn't normally consider collectible, as such) count as part of a stores free listing allocation.

There is a list ๐Ÿ™‚

To save anyone squinting at their screen, collectible =

Collectables

Crafts

Stamps

Pottery & Glass
Dolls & Bears

Plus all the sub-categories, of course.

Sorry clarry - no clue here, but take advantage of it while it lasts - when was the last time eBay did something for you?? LOL

Just be careful incase you end up getting fee's on your invoice - this may be another money making scheme for all we know !!

The latest free listing offer for 500 is for everybody - stores and non-stores.

Maybe you don't have to accept the offer, maybe it's automatic because

everybody gets it.  Maybe...

LOL. Maybe.

We don't have anything showing about the 500-listings on the Promotioanl Offers segment on our SMPro summary.

On either of our stores.

Thanks DG that makes sense now...

We sent our item into Crafts and a lower level sub-category.

I guess it must have come off one of our 80 (we have the basic store) for the month. So its not really free just use up one item of our 80.

Thank you for that.

Scroll down this page. There is a thread about free listings; the link is in there. But it runs out tomorrow night.

There's a thread about it with the link on the PS board, too.

A lot of people, me included, didn't get the notification, but it still works if you accept it.
