Alice has stuffed up a few times on the information she has provided in these forums.

true, but in this instance, Alice is only replying to the question of cubing small parcels.

Regardless, she needs to address that thread I posted where sellers have it in writing from Australia Post that BX1's for example will be cubed.

There are so many unanswered questions that all could have been answered by comprehensive AP fact sheets that coherently explained exactly what was changing and what was not changing - not really rocket science that it is important to make an effort to keep employees, contractors and customers informed.

Can I still send a large letter via registered post - Dunno

I think they are trying to make too many changes at once.

Im sure it all sounded rosey to the boffins sitting in a meeting room somewhere in AP head office but when they can't get the information out to their staff and customers on even the most basic of things, trying to change everything all at once was never going to be smooth.

Dear oh dear, just had a little more of look through the Nov 2012 book that Alice linked on facebook.

On the very same page (page 16) as the cubing spiel Alice refers to, in the paragraph above it, in fact, is the $50 compensation policy on parcels that Alice herself confirmed on these boards is no longer paid by AP on ordinary parcels

absolutely right Kaz.... and we have not even hit on the EIGHT DIFFERENT international zones, where countries next to each other in europe are in different zones, and our closest neighbour, PNG is in a zone with european countries!!  how long will ap staff need to work out 4  parcels to say, Germany, Austria, PNG and Samoa??????

To be fair, Lyndel, if they are going to split Europe into separate zones, then there HAVE to be adjacent countries in different zones.

Admittedly, Germany and Austria don't spring to mind as an obvious division. Historically at least, which might be colouring our impressions.

MY QUESTION EMAILED TO AUST POST:  a small parcel (i.e. book) weighing 400g, 30 cm and 15 cm x 5 cm; is the cost going to be $6.95 for a 500g regular parcel?
or is cubing compulsory for all small parcels?

AUSTRALIA POST REPLY 20 MARCH 2013:  Thank you for taking the time to contact us about our April price increase.

Small parcel's weighing up to 500g will be $6.95

I hope that this information has clarified the matter and been of some assistance. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Only if lodged over the counter and not via E-Parcel and NOT collected from your business.

Going to love to see our local PO if we start turning up with 5-6 satchels a day, and at Xmas that quadruples..
