Australia Post price increase - period of grace?

Is anyone aware if there is a "period of grace" after 4 January, where the old letter rates will be accepted without the recipient being charged for underpaid postage?  In the past there has been an "unwritten period of grace", sometimes two weeks or a month.

This is the case where you drop a pre-stamped letter into a red post box.  Of course once you approached the post office counter, the latest postage would be charged.

Happy New Year and thank you for all the very helpful "inside advice".

I'm fairly sure that was mentioned when they first posted this rant last month.

Shower caps for $26?!!

I actually think it's bordering on muslim bashing

I got my last shower caps for $1ea from China, with free postage. I don't know if they stuffed up, but they are a lot better quality than the ones I used to pay $10 for from the supermarket or chemist. I've got a LOT of hair and I couldn't get a large size which is why I tried online. I bought a few because I was expecting them to be pretty carpy and not last long, so was pleasently surprised.

Maybe the $26 shower caps are lined with gold for added waterproofing?!

I used to get them easily at the supermarket, but they stopped stocking the larger ones for some reason. I tried a smaller one but the weight of my hair kept dragging it off.

If you've also got a lot of hair, I got one of those Turbi-Twist things advertised on the tele, for Christmas and that thing is AWESOME! My hair was dry in 10 minutes rather than 3 or 4 hours.

Back on topic, yes, the period of grace is over now. I'd imagine there would still be people using up their old stamps though, trying to get away with it. Then they'll get upset when AP sends them a bill.

Small doesn't fit me either - hair too heavy.

Had turbie twists before they were turbie twists.

Bought a lot from $2 shops over the years.

But only towelling ones.  They sell microfibre ones now - they do nothing

except spread the water around

On topic: Yes, they'll all come howling here and say

"when did the postage go up?"          It's not fair   crying.gif

I told a lie, they didn't come from China, they came from Hong Kong. The large ones are 28cm as opposed to 25cm.

Well, I'd love to know on what basis "removed" was removed?
